I found the architecture in Florence to be visually intriguing, with a complex attention to detail and sense of individuality. Throughout my time here I was having to capture towering structures from an extensive array of angles and perspectives. At times I found this to be challenging, as I struggled to find a straight point within the frame. Despite this compositional issue, the unusual angles additionally worked in my favour, particularly with the conceptually intriguing structures such as the Duomo and Bottega Strozzi. I found that throughout the city's architecture there was an extensive consistent theme of terracotta and golden hues, which I discovered to be an excellent form of contrast against the British monotone architecture that I am used to, helping to produce confident photographic outcomes.
